Eisteddfod 2010

On Friday 26th February, parents were invited to join us for an exciting eisteddfod day filled with dance, music, recitation, and art. The day began with every girl performing for their house in the dance competition.

The music finals followed in the afternoon which included the recorder and vocal solos, the instrumental class and the piano class. From a class which involved over 45 instrumental solos, including a variety of instruments such as the violin, cello, guitar, accordion and saxophone, Emma triumphed on her violin and went on to win the Blue Ribband.

The day culminated with the crowning of the bard. This year the honour went to Zoe for her poem entitled 'Spring Song'. The House staff assisted Mrs Vigrass in robing the bard and then we all joined together to sing the Welsh National Anthem.

The Eisteddfod is all about doing the best for your House, and although individual performances are important, it is the final result and being part of the winning House that matters to the girls. This year, Bagnall Oakeley won the overall Inglefield House Eisteddfod. Well done to all who took part!
