As part of our recent studies on Antarctica, Year 5 welcomed Mr Tudor Morgan, Operations Manager for the Antarctic Heritage Trust, to give us a talk on his experiences of working in such an extreme environment. We were shown a variety of photos which gave a good insight into the wildlife, climate, geography and history of Antarctica. We were also given the opportunity to ask some questions about Mr Morgan’s expeditions and to find out more about his role. The presentation confirmed a lot of our own research and gave Year 5 a chance to show off some of their own knowledge and understanding, particularly when it came to the wildlife in Antarctica.
Residential trip to London
Year 5 spent three days in London learning more about the Tudors. They packed a tremendous amount into their time there and visited the Golden Hind, the National Portrait Gallery, Hampton Court Palace, the Globe theatre and the Tower of London.

After lunch we went and explored outside. We looked at all of the sculptures. My favourite was the life size whale’s tail! After that we went back inside to hold some sculptures. I really liked the metal chicken that was made out of wire because it was such a clever idea!
