Tree descriptions inspired by our art work

"The spiky branches like boney fingers entwine in a tangled maze. Patterned bark of different shapes and colours make each trunk unique. In the foreground blades of grass go up and down in tunnels of green like a rollercoaster ride. A blanket of newly fallen snow covers the ground keeping it warm from winter's chill."  By Natasha

"The wood looks spooky and dangerous. Grass crawls up your legs as you get further into it. Branches blind you as you stumble along. Darkness covers your path until you can no longer see. A gentle breeze blows stronger and stronger. Saplings swing angrily begging the wind to stop." By Jasmine

"The forest is a deep, dark, dense place. The trees are as tall as mountains that stand in silence as though listening to you. Their gnarled and twisted fingers make the forest like a maze. Their lively bodies dance to the joyous whistling of the breeze. The leaves are chattering and the cheerful birds sing in the morning. The grass waves to you as you pass and the trees send you into a dancing trance. The forest is a peaceful place, great to explore and have fun adventures in!" By Sophia

"The wood is dense and knotted. The trees stand close togher like soldiers, standing to attention. Their ancient trunks are gnarled and coarse. The saplings are smooth and tender. Unique patterns are engraved in the ridged bark. The branches intertwine creating a maze of different shapes. A deep silence fills the hushed woods, an occasional mournful owl's hoot cracks it sadly." Winter Poems

Winter leaped from tree to tree, Sprinkling a silver blanket of beauty, As she passes under the moon, Her cloak followed behind her.

Hiding behind each tree, Her goblin brother follows, Stealing the jewels his sister has made, Replacing them with sharp icicles.

He takes one last look at his fairy sister, And together they disappear into the mist.

By Diana

Let me tell you about two winters. The first is a gentle as new snow. She lays out the shimmering snow and ice as clear as a glass mirror, reflecting the sun which flies by. She dabs the frost when it is still gleaming at night. When she lays the snow, she puts just enough to make a snowman, and have a snowball fight for all the children.

The other winter's heart is as black as night. He kills the plants and trees by putting too much snow on everything. Sometimes He only gives a little bit of snow to make the children sad. But soon the nice winter will win the fight and reign once more.

Winter whispered silent orders to the oak and fir, as she ran throught the glistening wood and froze anything that entered her harsh path.

She passed the glistening, snow covered trees, and brushed the ground with her cloak, Winter sent the frost to go and invade each innocent rosehip and web.

The winter sun shone down on the frozen land, Winter's silver fingertips touched the flowers in turn and forced them to die. As soon as she had come, she vanished leaving the dead world behind.
