Lent Term

Inglefield House has seen tremendous success in chess this term. Fifteen of our girls competed in the Welsh Junior Chess Championships and achieved some very good scores, with Stephanie (Year 3) Top Girl in both the Under 8 and Under 9 competitions and Sarah Top Girl in the Under 11 competition.

In the Welsh Primary School's Chess Championships held in Methyr Tydfil, our team went into the plate competition against twenty other schools. As the day went on, our girls got better and better, and on entering the last round needed only two and a half points to come first! After a nail-biting time, Selina, Elizabeth and Amy scored two points between them and Gabrielle pulled off a draw to secure a win. This was Inglefield House's best ever result. Well done to our girls!

Michaelmas Term

Inglefield House hosted the Welsh Girls Chess Championships.

Pupils from Inglefield House had a very successful weekend at the Welsh Junior Chess Championships. Results were as follows:
