Year 4 Art

Recorder Cases

During  the Lent term, Year 4 have been designing and making their own recorder cases. Each of the designs was very individual and the girls are very proud of their finished pieces. The cases will definitely be put to good use.

Anglo-Saxon Brooches

We recently studied Anglo-Saxon jewellery designs and made our own Saxon brooches using clay and pasta pieces. We sprayed the brooches in either silver of gold and then painted the precious stones.

Saxon Helmets

First we chose a picture of an Anglo-Saxon helmet. Most of the pictures had gold, silver or bronze on them. We lightly sketched them into our books and then transferred our design onto black paper and coloured it using gold, silver and bronze oil pastels (Charlotte, Year 4).

We worked in groups to make tree collages inspired by Kandinsky. We then chose our favourite Kandinsky painting and created a copy using design software on the computer.
