Year 6 Activities

Harvest Scarecrows

Year 6 enjoyed a lively morning creating these wonderful scarecrows. They worked in groups to create these amusing characters. The scarecrows provided an interesting backdrop for our annual Harvest Assembly.

Riverwalk

On a glorious afternoon, Year 6 went on a walk around Monmouth to look specifically at how the rivers have helped to shape the town. Their walk took them alongside the Monnow and the Wye and they were able to see some of the physical features that they had been learning about in Geography. Have a look at our Year 6 art page to see some examples of our river art work.

Manor Adventure

All the girls were really excited when we arrived at Manor Adventure, along with suitcases full to the brim with clothes ready to get muddy, wet and ruined. We were firstly shown round the site and then we were ready for our first activity! We were in three groups and we all did different activities. During our time at Manor Adventure, we did archery, high-ropes, canoeing, kayaking, underground maze, I.E., fencing, assult course and the climbing wall. The atmostphere was like a summer camp. Children running everywhere, activities, it was really fun! Everyone's favourite activity was definitely the canoeing and kayaking, racing, splashing and falling in! Everyone enjoyed the trip, and one thing was obvious, we all came back muddier than we were before! (Carys, 6H)
