On Wednesday 4^th May 2010 Year 3 visited the Barn Owl Sanctuary in Gloucester. As we are reading “The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark” it was an ideal opportunity for the girls to learn more about the lifestyle and welfare of owls. The children got to meet several owls at close quarters and actually had the chance to fly “Gyzmo”, a rather beautiful barn owl. ‘Turner’ was another of the girls’ favourites. They had the thrill of this bird of prey swooping down and feeding.
