On Tuesday 14th February, Year 6 were entertained by Daniel Morden, author and storyteller. The workshop focused on Greek Myths and involved the girls listening to stories and re-telling them from memory in small groups. During the course of the morning, the girls created poems about various Greek Gods including Aries, Apollo, Zeus and Poseidon. Sixth-form Classics students from both HMSG and Monmouth School worked with the girls during the workshop and it was an excellent introduction to Classics, bringing the subject to life for this young audience.
The Year 6 girls really enjoyed Daniel’s unique delivery of the myths and when asked their opinion of the experience, they described the workshop as enthralling, thrilling and educational. Warm praise indeed and our thanks to Daniel for this entertaining contribution to our Post Entrance Exam Programme.
