Coming as they do from a wide variety of schools and an extensive geographical area, girls settle quickly and confidently into the happy, well-ordered environment provided in Inglefield House. We firmly believe that it is only in an environment in which standards of work and behaviour are clearly understood that children are likely to enjoy their work and thereby achieve their full potential.
We are strongly committed to the class teaching system and it is through the close bond that is formed between a class teacher and her pupil that security and stability are established and maintained.
We encourage our girls to be independent, to think for themselves and take initiative, within the confines of discreet supervision and guidance. They will learn a self-discipline that will stand them in good stead when they move on to the next, important stage in their education.
School hours are from 8.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Girls can be dropped off at Inglefield House from 8.10am and are supervised by a member of staff. Those girls who arrive before 8.10am may wait in the Dining Room. A range of extra-curricular clubs are available to the pupils after school and, in addition to these, After-school Care is provided from 4pm to 6pm every day. Pupils may be booked into After-school Care on an ad hoc basis so that parents with other commitments may collect their daughters later in the day having already completed their homework and taken part in an activity.
