The Monmouth Schools are served by the Chaplain, the Rev’d David Ibbotson, who works across the boys’ school, girls’ school, The Grange, Inglefield House and Agincourt School. He lives in the town and is available for pupils, parents and staff to discuss any matters they wish to raise with him.
Welcome to the Chaplaincy to Monmouth Schools. It is a great joy to me to be serving the school communities as chaplain. Whether you have a personal faith, are curious about faith or have no faith at all, I am delighted to be able to serve within the schools.
I took up the post of chaplain in September 2014 after serving a curacy at Tewkesbury Abbey. Prior to my ordination I taught chemistry for most of my career with my last post being Director of Studies at a boarding and day school in Hampshire. I started my teaching career at Monmouth School in 1986 and so this is very much a homecoming for me.
I look forward to serving the communities in whatever way I can. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to do so about any matter of concern to you.
